P.O.P visits...BAGUIO!!!! 50's Diner, Filling Station Reviewed

Baguio! the summer capital of the Philippines!
Cold breezy weather, beautiful scenery,
and one of THE BEST PLACE TO EAT IN THE PHILIPPINES!!!

We start off with....

50's Diner :@) :@) :@)
Address: 92 Upper General Luna Road, Corner Brent Road, Baguio City

"Go Johnny go!! go!!!....Johnny B. Goode!" (Song playing as me and my friend stepped in)

ELVIS PRESLEY!!!! ?? ohh mannn!!! from the moment I stepped in..i KNEW for sure I was gonna enjoy. (im a hardcore fan)

Grandma's Fried Chicken

Not only is this the BEST fried chicken ive ever had...but it is HUGE!!! 3 PIECES OF HUGE!

It comes with fries and rice..and a whole lot of gravy! VERY CRISPY!! VERY JUICY!!!

Again..the BEST FRIED CHICKEN IN THE PHILIPPINES! (THIS IS NO EXAGGERATION!!!)

The best part is?? its VERY affordable!
Unfortunately..i wasn't able to list the price,, but its well below 200php.

50s Diner Cheeseburger

Another must try at 50s.
This is the classic american burger. Simply: Burger,Bun, Lettuce and Fries!
Its not as fancy as the..."WASABI BURGER" or...
"BBQ BACON MUSHROOM BURGER"

but trust me when i say, this again, is one of the truest and BEST tasting CLASSICAL BURGER IN THE PHILIPPINES!

Delicious, HUGE, and VERY affordable.

Although, somewhat..not very DINER-ish.... this is one of the top sellers in Baguio!
Delicious prawns (sweet and succulent) in sweet and slightly spicy sauce, sided with FRESH baguio beans and carrots!

50s Cheese Sandwich

So incase you haven't figured it out yet, 50s diner servings are HUGE!!!! This cheese sandwich is NO exception!

Overall, our experience in 50s diner is DEFINITELY great!
Aside from the very affordable gigantic ULTRA YUMMY food,
we also enjoyed the friendliness of the staff...as well as their cute uniform.

Most of the waitresses were also very cute ;)

On another note, the establishment really made sure the customers not only feel at home, but at home during the 50s!

Everything from the pink glittery lights, cute waitresses, bar stools, and the juke box, screams out "Classic American Diner"

Definitely recommended... definitely one of the BETS PLACE TO EAT IN BAGUIO!

We now move on to...
:@) :@) The Filling Station

This establishment is located along camp john hay, and is actually quite a nice place to chill and relax.

Unfortunately, we didn't have enough time to try everything.

So far however, this is where we ate:

Hotshots Garlic Cream cheese burger w/ twister fries!

Quite good, but a little pricey for the size. around 120-150php.
Its burger is grilled on charcoal which gives it a powerful bbq flavor.
Twister fries were delicious!

Roast Beef

Roast beef was soft and juicy..but WAYYY over priced! Servings were small...though quality and taste was quite good. Mixed feelings on this one... but not something I would get again.

Strawberries and Ice cream is found at the very end of Filling Station.
From the moment you walk in, you can smell the very fresh strawberries blended, topped, and mixed!

As such, I got the Fresh Strawberry Juice!
Baguio IS after all, the Strawberry Mecca of the Philippines.

What makes this drink special is that it is actually made of PURE strawberries!
No mlik, water, or anything else!

Very sweet, and hint of tanginess..but VERY fresh!

Overall, the Filling Station serves more as a food court than anything.

It had mexican food, japanese food, burgers, and fine dining.
Take your pick! coz its well worth it ;)

Happy Pigout! :@)

If you wouldn't mind taking a couple of seconds to vote for me, go to my blog, or copy and paste the following link which goes right to my picture:

Thanks for a very helpful post. My husband and I plan to go to Baguio next week and I want to do something different aside from sight seeing. We plan to try food tripping instead. thanks again.

Hi Pigout Philippines,

Do you happen to be interested in doing some blogging for targeted Manila restos? Cos I have more than a hundred that needs your expertise.

By the way, 50's used to be my haven while studying back in UP Baguio :D

Hope to hear from you soon.
